Wyoming National Guard Celebrates a New Brigadier General

The Wyoming National Guard has a new brigadier general! Last week, Toby Alkire was officially promoted in a ceremony at Joint Force Headquarters in Cheyenne, surrounded by fellow service members, family, and friends.
A Torrington native, Alkire’s military journey began in 1998 as a Cannon Fire Direction Control Specialist. Over the years, he has taken on critical leadership roles, including Chief of Joint Staff and Army Chief of Staff, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his country and state.
His promotion came with well-deserved recognition, including the prestigious Legion of Merit and the ceremonial pinning of his new rank by his family. Reflecting on this milestone, Brig. Gen. Alkire shared his gratitude and commitment to continued service.
